Empowering Future Farmers at Glorious Crown Royal Academy
At the heart of sustainable agriculture is education, and the Edo Chapter has taken a bold step in inspiring the next generation of farmers. Recently, the chapter leader, of Mrs.Eunice Iyawere had the privilege of training the vibrant students of Glorious Crown Royal Academy on tomato nurturing and propagation. This initiative aimed to equip these young learners with practical skills in sustainable farming, fostering a connection between education and food security.
The training was hands-on and interactive. Using tomato seeds, six nursery trays, and organic farming techniques, the students gained valuable insights into growing healthy crops. They learned the essentials of preparing nursery beds, watering schedules, and organic care, setting the foundation for responsible and environmentally friendly farming practices.
But this initiative extended beyond agriculture. To further support the students’ holistic development, the Edo Chapter provided 200 exercise books for school use. This gesture underscores the importance of nurturing both academic and practical skills, encouraging these young minds to grow in the classroom as well as in the garden.
The effort is a reminder of the power of community-driven initiatives in shaping the future of agriculture. By teaching sustainable methods and fostering a passion for farming, the Edo Chapter is planting seeds not only in the soil but also in the hearts of the next generation.
With every seed sown, every nursery tray filled, and every student inspired, the journey toward a more sustainable future continues.
